SHOES

I'm often asked what shoes to wear during a Zumba class. It really depends on what type of support your foot need. As a dancer, I was used to having my foot snug in "jazz shoe", with a ton of support for my ankle. With Zumba, I spend most of my class on the balls of my feet, therefore I personally don't need much ankle support. A few ladies in one of my classes have gone barefoot a few times, but they said that it definitely made their knees ache.

The most important thing about what type of shoes you wear, is that you don't have any TREADS on the bottom of your sneaker ~ the treads tend to catch on the floor as you move around, it's best to have a flat sole.

For the past year and 1/2 I have been wearing these Asics Women's Shihan sneakers. I absolutely adore them. They are snug to my feet, and have a flat sole.

If you aren't totally sure what type of support you need in a sneaker, I definitely recommend going to a store, and trying on different types, and then move around in them and do a few Zumba steps!

Don't worry, that perfect Zumba sneaker is out there for you!
